ACCESSIBILITY POLICY & MULTI-YEAR ACCESSIBILITY PLAN Ontario Policy
Panels.ca (“PANELS.CA”) is committed to eliminating barriers and improving accessibility for people with disabilities and to providing goods and services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities. People with disabilities will be given the same opportunity to access and benefit from our goods and services, in the same place and in a similar way as other customers.
A Message from our CEO
Panels.ca believes in the right to accessibility for everyone. As a company we are actively implementing policies and training to make this happen.
Our Commitment
Panels.ca strives to meet the needs of its employees and customers with disabilities and is working hard to remove and prevent barriers to accessibility.
Panels.ca is committed to fulfilling our requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005. This accessibility plan outlines the steps we are takin to meet those requirements and to improve opportunities for people with disabilities.
Our plan shows how we will play our role in making Ontario an accessible province for all Ontarians.
The plan is reviewed and updated at least once every 5 years.
A core piece to the Panels.ca succession plan involves an emphasis on company policies and training protocols to ensure our workforce is equipped with the information to make this plan successful.
Strategies and Actions
The following projects and programs are planned to meet the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act to remove and prevent barriers to people with disabilities.
Customer Service
Panels.ca is committed to providing accessible customer service to people with disabilities. This means that we will provide goods, services and facilities to people with disabilities with the same quality and timeliness as others.
All new staff are to undergo training in Human Rights and AODA policies that will ongoingly be supported by our leadership team and our employees who are exemplar of this criteria. With immediate exposure to our company initiatives and ongoing support our action ensures all our employees can execute high customer standards.
Information and Communications
Panels.ca is committed to making our information and communications accessible to people with disabilities. Our offices and manufacturing facilities have onsite training manuals. In part with onboarding training, our employees know where to find this manual and understand to use and reference this training manual to support decision making and everyday actions. Our intranet offers downloadable manuals that can be read aloud by the computer, formatted in large print that can also be used for reference. These communications are currently available and will continuously be offered until updates are made on the current versions.
Employment
Panels.ca is committed to fair and accessible employment practices. All people are eligible for hire within our offices and manufacturing facilities across Ontario with priority to workplace safety.
Training
Panels.ca is committed to providing training in the requirements of Ontario’s accessibility laws and the Ontario Human Rights Code as it applies to people with disabilities.
Panels.ca trains every person as soon as practicable after being hired and provide training in respect of any changes to the policies.
Panels.ca maintains records of the training provided including the dates on which the training was provided and the number of individuals to whom it was provided.
